Check Your Receipts

A recent trip to Matador with a fellow BGGer proved to be a bit more expensive for this Ballard Gossip Girl than expected. After having a light meal and a refreshing beverage we decided to split our check, giving the bartender 2 credit cards. We both signed and left a generous tip. That was that. So, you can imagine my shock when I checked my bank statement a couple days later and saw not only my charge from Matador, but also the one that should have been charged to my fellow BGGer. Instead of running both our cards, they ran mine twice! Apparently this is not the first time this has happened either. Several sources close to BGG have had similar experiences at Matador. Have you had a similar experience? Chime in.

Just found your site and read this post and wanted to chime in.

We frequent Matador fairly often, best plate of nachos in town, IMO.

But a couple months ago, My wife and I and a buddy were there for drinks and after a few rounds and a plate of nacho's we got the bill and noticed they had way over charged us. They added like 4 extra glasses of wine and a few xtra shots of scotch to the tab.

I like booze and follow the rule that you never question the bill becuase booze has that effect, but there was NO way that my wife drank 7 glasses of wine and those mystery shots in 2 hours....Me and my buddy only had beers.

They hooked us up with a gift card for like $50 bucks, so they made up for it in the end.

I still go there....alot.
